Is This True?

Is it true that McDonnell is pushing for a primary now in 2009???
If so this raises a great deal of concern. First, why is he concerned about a challenge from the right? If he is as conservative as he says he is then there should be no trouble. I mean, the guy was “the Architect” behind HB 3202 and HB 6055. Why should he be concerned about a conservative challenge? Oh wait, exactly because he supported crappy legislation.
Second, he most likely wants the primary to help his boy John Brownlee. If Brownlee is pushing for a primary privately to McDonnell this will be bad news for both campaigns. Brownlee knows that Cuccinelli will destroy him in a convention setting. Brownlee also knows that Conservatives are not exactly rushing to his side as they are to Kens.
Third, McDonnell and Brownlee share the same consultants. They are Tim Phillips and Phil Cox (both work for Americans for Prosperity). These two are trying to maximize there wins by getting their candidates in, no matter what the will of the party is. I hope these four will respect the process and let everything move forward as planned.
Halting the convention for Cuccinelli will send out a signal of what McDonnell and Brownlee are up to. Watch McDonnell lose votes because of this as well as Ken ramp up his statewide efforts to crush Brownlee in the primary. Ken is one of the best campaigners in the state and he will not take this crap from McDonnell and Brownlee if this is true.
