Will any Candidate Bring Change???

Posted by redvirginia on April 3, 2008

In a recent Economist article, the idea of change that the possible 2008 contenders would bring was discussed. The funny thing was this, Obama and Clinton are extremely vague in their positions on Iraq. Obama says just enough o make you think he supports withdrawing but then mentions that a large number of troops would be left behind. As Clinton calls for a withdrawal as well, she forgets to mention that she would like that as early as 2013, not 2009.

It’s funny to watch the main stream media report this garbage. The MSM tries so hard to convince people that Obama has the right position while not fully explaining his position. I know a lot of Obama supporters that think he supports withdrawing all the troops by the summer of 09. They should all feel stupid because that is not Obama’s position.

McCain is just as unclear on his position on the war. He seeks to stay over there as long as it takes to complete the job. My question though, what is the job? Is it securing the country? Defeating the rebel insurgents? What is it that requires my “increasing” tax dollars to fund a war that no one knows what the ending should be.

I call on all 3 candidates to define their positions on this war soon. I want real answers, not dodgy political crap that we see all to often from the likes of Obama. I don’t want an answer full of emotion. Tell me the truth. I want an end to this war as much as anyone else, but I want our politicians to speak honestly about how we get to that end.
