Amit Singh Receives Endorsement from Bill Lockhart

Arlington, Virginia – On Thursday, the Amit Singh Congressional Campaign announced they had received the endorsement of Bill Lockhart, former Arlington County Republican Committee Chairman and former campaign manager for Congressional Candidate Tom O’Donoghue.  Singh is running for Congress in Virginia’s 8th District, which includes Arlington, Alexandria, Falls Church, and portions of Fairfax.

“I’m proud to endorse Amit Singh to represent Virginia’s 8th Congressional District,” said Lockhart.  “A native Virginian, Amit has a true understanding of what we value and a proven track record of successful leadership.”

Tom O’Donoghue secured the Republican Party’s nomination for Congress in 2006 when he defeated Mark Ellmore by a margin of approximately 70% – 30%.  Ellmore is now running for the nomination against Singh.

“Amit is a strong advocate for lowering taxes on families and small business, affordable health care and stopping illegal immigration,” Lockhart stated.  “I hope Amit can count on your vote on June 10th to make sure we have a common sense conservative candidate that we can be proud of.”

Singh has campaigned on a platform of bringing limited government and fiscal responsibility back to Northern Virginia.  He is a graduate of the University of Virginia and currently owns his own small business which works closely with the defense and intelligence community.

“It is truly an honor to receive the support of a proven winner like Bill Lockhart,” said Singh.  “In 2006 Bill supported Tom O’Donoghue and they won the primary overwhelmingly.  I’m confident we will do the same and then go on to challenge Jim Moran in November.”

As of Thursday, Amit Singh’s campaign website listed a goal of raising $25,000 by the end of March.  So far they have raised more than $23,000 towards that goal.  The campaign kicked off their fundraising drive two weeks ago when a supporter meet and greet raised more than $9,000 in a single day.
