I'm sorry, but I think that, reading this after the primary, this is the funniest thing I have ever read. "Amit Singh is a conservative Godsend!!!" Oh, this is perfect.

Archimedes,

Are you kidding? Ellmore is no different than ANY other Republican candidate who came before him.

And, there is no problem with a federal approach to marriage. The Constitution doesn't require states to recognize marriages. If you think I'm fooling, read it and you'll see. Seriously, I'm not kidding. Article IV, Sec 2 empowers Congress to regulate it and that's why we have DOMA. It doesn't say that one state has to recognize it all.

It's not a doomed approach and it works. I heard Amit Singh at a GOP meeting and he seems genuine. He doesn't hide behind buzzphrases and he doesn't act like a Ron Paul kook or come across as far right. In fact, he said he doesn't see things as left or right but up or down. I like it and quite frankly, I'm leaning towards him.

Seriously? This guy is Ron Paul reincarnated. He's not going to win. What Ellmore has going for him in this gerrymandered district is that he doesn't sound like he came out of far right field. The problem with a federalized approach to keeping marriage intact is that, according to the Constitution, states must recognize marriages performed in any other state. So a candidate who "follows the Constitution" would not only support this doomed federalist approach to keeping traditional marriage, but then do a total flip-flop and support gay marriage in states that have outlawed it b/c the Consitution says so. Ellmore is smart enough to realize this and therefore supports the federal ban on gay marriage.

This an excellent piece. I agree, Amit Singh is really getting noticed. It's comforting to see so many people on board with his message of true limited government.

Amit is clearly the best candidate to win the 8th District. His policy stances on limiting the government and personal liberties were enough to win an endorsement from me. For more on Ellmore, I clearly laid out the case on my blog today. The only issue that I do not agree with Amit on is the War in Iraq.
