New Hampshire Predictions

Posted by redvirginia on January 7, 2008

I have not been good at making predictions so far for 2008 but maybe I will be correct tomorrow! Iowa will only influence one candidate in N.H.- Mitt Romney. No one else is affected by what happened last Thursday. Mike Huckabee will feel the influence from Iowa in other states but New Hampshire acts separately from Iowa. The two are extremely different contests with a completely different demographic of voters. Because of that, Iowa will have no bearing into the New Hampshire contest aside from Mitt Romney.

Mitt Romney will be the only one to feel the Iowa results bearing down on his back all throughout the N.H. contest. Because Mitt was portrayed as the natural heir to winning Iowa for many many months up unto the defeat by Mike Huckabee, Mitt’s electability is now in question in N.H. where he is had a sound lead up until recently. Now Mitt feels a lot of pressure from John McCain as McCain has taken the lead in most polls conducted in the state. Mitt needs to win tomorrow more than ever- and we here at RedVirginia hope that Mitt has success!

Over the last couple of days Mitt has done an EXTRAORDINARY job at campaigning. He has cut a couple of amazing ads and has had several excellent debate performances. He has been closing the gap between himself and McCain. Most polling that has been conducted over the last 24 hours has shown that the race is a toss up. Mitt definitely has the chance to have a come-from-behind-victory.

So here is what we predict:

Mitt Romney – 33%

John McCain – 32%

Mike Huckabee – 13%

Ron Paul – 12%

Rudy Giuliani – 9%

Fred Thompson – 1%
